Resetting the Standard
The SMA ROBO SCAN can be operated as a fully automated page turning book scanner or as a manual book scanner. SMA offers the most complete range of robotic book scanners from A2+ to A0+, the largest robotic book scanner in the world. The ROBO SCAN produces TRUE Optical resolutions of up to 600 x 1200 dpi in bi-tonal, grey scale, and color in very little time. All SMA scanners achieve a geometrical accuracy of <0.1%.
Manual or Robotic? You decide.
The SMA ROBO SCAN can be operated as a fully automated page turning book scanner or as a manual book scanner. The ROBO SCAN features a sensitive robotic arm that carefully lifts and turns each page. Not only will your productivity dramatically increase with the ROBO SCAN, but the user is able to operate the ROBO SCAN in a manual mode for extremely rare or fragile originals.

The SMA ROBO SCAN includes highly intelligent, self-adjusting motorized book cradles that are able to easily join together to create a level scanning surface for all flat and structured originals. The new 3-in-1 ROBO SCAN V2 features a V-Shape Cradle that can scan 3 different ways, V-Shape robotically (with/without glass), V-Shape manually (with/without glass), and Flat manually (without glass). The ROBO SCAN is now equipped with V3D technology, increasing the depth of field significantly offering perfect reproductions of nearly any structured surface.
Bring it to Light
The SMA ROBO SCAN family utilizes LED lighting completely free of any ultraviolet or infrared radiation. This guarantees harmless and uniform illumination. Like all SMA scanners, the ROBO SCAN truly operates independent of ambient light, and can be utilized in all lighting environments. Bright sunlight or intense ceiling light does not interfere in the scanning process, eliminating costly dark room enhancements.
