Microfilm is not a thing of the past, it is guaranteeing the past will always have the opportunity to accurately present itself in the future. For 50 years, SMA has been a market leader in the micrographics industry with cost effective solutions, innovation, and technological advancements. Now with the highest resolution monitor available on the market today, the 8K Archive Writer continues to raise the standards.
Microfilm is the only proven long term storage solution available today. Analogue Imaging believes digital storage and analogue storage are not competing technologies. Neither is more important than the other, but rather they support each other. Digital storage is necessary for short term and ever-changing data, while microfilm is optimal for long term and permanent data.
The SMA Archive Writer produces an analogue backup of your digital files that are completely hardware, software, and migration independent. Microfilm, produced properly and stored in proper conditions has an ANSI certified life expectancy rating of 500 years. Microfilm cannot be manipulated through coding, it cannot hacked by malicious parties and most importantly, it does not require costly software upgrades.
Resetting the Standard
The SMA Archive Writer Family can handle all common image files such as TIFF, JPEG, PDF, etc. The SMA Archive Writer will accept and write bi-tonal, grey scale and color images with no file size restrictions. The converting process is quick and reliable, providing superior image quality. The original document size can vary from as small as a postcard up to large maps and engineering drawings. The SMA Archive Writer requires minimal user intervention, once the converting process has begun, the system will work unattended. The system includes a PC workstation and intuitive operating software to manage your digital files.
The entire SMA Archive Writer Family does NOT require the use of proprietary film. Any SMA Archive Writer will write to ANY standard silver halide camera microfilm. The flexibility and cost savings of non-proprietary microfilm will increase exponentially throughout the lifetime of ownership.
